MY STORY AND MISSION

A LIFE LEARNER IN SEARCH OF WONDERMENT

Kind Words

"Ruth Polden has a natural gift of being able to gently guide you whilst encouraging your mind to retain a light curiosity about how your body feels."

"I am always blown away by how engaging such simple small movements can be, with the right teacher!"

Alanna

My Story

How we move in our body directly impacts how we think and feel about ourselves. I have been exploring and inquiring into this personally and professionally for over 30 years; as a movement specialist.

I help people to move with comfort, ease and efficiency and function better in what they love to do in Life.

I am a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, Yoga Teacher, YogaBirth Senior Tutor and former dancer/choreographer. I bring a rich, dimensional approach to working with people. I love to create person-centred, transformational learning experiences that support (and empower) people through their life journey.

I love thinking 'outside the box' and believe that, as we come home to ourselves with kindness and curiosity, change is always possible.

During my career as a dancer I performed and choreographed in Europe and Israel, and have been a visiting lecturer on the dance faculty at Eastbourne University and Dance Foundation Course Hammersmith Education Centre. (1987-1989)

I am a mother to two incredible human beings, to whom I am eternally grateful. I love dancing, music, walking (on the beach in particular), cooking and gathering around good food with loved ones. Tending my flowers. Am entranced by all things pomegranates, and all things cashmere.

MY MISSION:

TO CREATE TRANSFORMATIONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCES WITH CURIOSITY, KINDNESS & SELF-RESPECT AT THEIR CORE.

TO DELIGHT IN DISCOVERY & THE MAGIC IN REMEMBERING OUR TRUE SELF

TO EFFORT LESS & LIVE LIFE MORE

A few more things about me:

As Co-Director and Co-creator of the YogaBirth Training Course, I am proud to run the longest and most in-depth training of it’s kind in the UK.

On the faculty of the London Yoga Teacher Training Group, preparing yoga teachers of the future.

Co-creator of The Bliss Space (2006) an online community supporting mothers to celebrate their motherhood experience.

Passionate about bringing awareness and understanding through experiential learning. Respectful of physiological birth what supports ad aligns /what can disrupt and interfere with the delicate exquisite balance and blueprint. It's a big passion of mine and I feel called to impart my expertise, experience and knowledge so women and their families can receive the best support and be empowered to make the choices that are right for them.

A founder of Motherwise, the Israel Natural Childbirth Centre (1990), the first educational centre of its kind in the country. Established as a catalyst for change, choice and continuity of care for women in childbirth.  Empowering both women, their families  and birthworkers in Israel. (Where I lived for 20 years.)

Playing Big Facilitator: I incorporate the Playing Big philosophy and approaches into supporting, mentoring clients and students.

As a dancer I worked, performed and choreographed in Europe and Israel.

I was a lecturer on the Dance Faculty at Eastbourne University and Dance Foundation Course Hammersmith Education Centre. (1987-1989)

I love to bring a rich, dimensional, personalised approach to working with people. And believe that as we come home to ourselves with kindness and curiosity, change is always possible

I observe, create, empower, build confidence, respect, support, think, help, believe.

I know change and transformation can be fun!
